The Magnificent Mile

Chitown

My favorite city in all of the United States is also the most criticized city in the country. Included as one of the top 10 murder capitals of the United States, Chicago, Illinois has probably one of the worst reputations out of all the cities in the U.S.

And yet, it still holds a place dear in my heart. Most of its criticism comes from the media and those who have yet to vist either due to fear or disgust. But there is no way to truly know a place without personal investigation.

I have been to Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Philadelphia and Miami but I have not visited a city that has captivated me with its beauty and flavor much like Chicago has.

If you are looking for food, there is no better place to grab one of Chicago's famous deep dish pizzas than Giordano's.

For breakfast, grab yourself a freshly squeezed orange juice and an avacado, egg and cheese bagel at Yolk at 340 N.State St.

And for some comfort food on a Friday night check out Harold's Chicken Shack and ask for their Mild Sauce.

You can't visit Chicago without sampling at least one of Garrett's variety of popcorn flavors at the Navy Pier!

There is so much to do in Chicago, especially during the holiday season. If you are visiting during the Christmas holiday be sure to check out the ChristKindl Market held every year during the holidays at Daley Plaza and stop by one of their shops for a hot chocolate. You may even want to grab yourself a few nuts and bolts made out of pure chocolate.

There are plenty of places to shop for the holidays on the Magnificent Mile in the Michigan Avenue District.

For the best view, book a hotel right on Riverwalk and take all the pictures while walking along the river that flows through the city.

Don't be mean, go see the Chicago bean found in Millennium Park! This thirty three foot high structure is an attraction everyone must see if you're visiting Chicago for the first time

My wife and I cannot visit Chicago without walking the Navy Pier! A 3,300 foot pier that stretches across Lake Michigan. The Navy pier is filled with acres of restaraunts, shops and attraction for everyone.
